Help
Hi
I am running XP on a sony Vaio. All was well until my daughter clicking a screen asking I know not what. I then had something about Spylocker and a very irritating icon flashing on the bit by the time at the bottom of the screen. I eventually found something called Smitfraudfix which got rid of the icon. Also upgraded my free AVG to the all singing dancing version with firewall etc. Seemed better to begin with but now my computer has gone really slow. Any suggestions please, I'm desperate. I am more computer literate than this sounds so don't despair.
thanks

I would suggest you run ccleaner
http://ccleaner.com/
This may help remove any residue.

I agree with Fingees, but if you don't want CCleaner to dump the Yahoo toolbar on your system, then during installation, uncheck the option to install the Yahoo toolbar. And before first use, go to Options > Settings > Advanced and ensure Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours is unchecked. To delete all "tracking" cookies, (which I urge you do), you must delete all cookies, so ensure the Cookies setting remains checked. Ensure you know your site credentials (user name and password) for sites you frequent; you will have to login again at next visit.

Many thanks,
I will give that a go and see what happens. Fingers crossed.
