Good day I am having a problem with my dell inspiron notebook after I installed a update from dell I cant connect to the net even after I do a system restore can anyone say what could be the problem?

What was the nature of the update?

Do you have the original drivers CD for the laptop?

If not what is the exact model ID. Dell will have the drivers on their web site.

Thanks Jephree but I have done a stupid thing by trying a repair install with a xp sp2 cd and it is a media center os and when I reach to where I should put in the product key it keeps saying it is an invalid key so I assumed the key I am inserting is diffrent from the one on the note book so now I will have to try and get a media center cd, ouch I guess I will have to reformat. Any suggestions?

What is the exact Inspiron model?

Did Dell not provide a CD? If not the recovery/restore should be on a partition on the hard drive. Access is usually a hotkey on boot. Perhaps F10.

It is an inspiron 6400 and I did not get the cd maybe because I got it from a third party but I will try the hot key stuff anyway
