Email files are being copied to root of c drive
Every time I receive an email a file is copied to the root of my c/drive.
This happens no matter whether I download the mail in Outlook or Outlook Express.
If I open the file in notepad it is the email and properties.
The files have names like S3892g.
As I get abot 200 emails a day, so 200 files appear in C:/
(I delete them every day)
What is happening and how can I stop it?
I hope someone can help!
Regards, Peter

When you delete them from your C: drive, are they gone in outlook?
I would check in outlook properties to see where it saves/backs up/whatnots the e-mail messages you get. I don't use Outlook, but this is just an idea.

Thanks for the reply. When I delete trhe files from the root of c they are still in outlook.
I cannot see any settings indicating they are being copied or backed up!

honestly, I have no idea. If you are desperate, you could, if these files all have something in common (eg. all are .eml or something or all are consecutively name (like email001 to email200)), you could download autohotkey http://www.autohotkey.com/ and write a script to delete those files. It's really very easy, all the instructions for writing a script like this are on the autohotkey website. If you decide to do this, feel free to reply to this message, or even better, post a message on the autohotkey forums on their site.
