Recently i have been getting a message
"microsoft visual C++ error runtime library
Buffer overrun detected!
Program: C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's internal state. the program cannon safely continue execution and mush be terminated"

With any full screen games ive noticed after about 10 min of play my screen goes all over the place which results in me restarting the computer.

dont no if these two things are related but any help would be great
im running on windows XP

This error has a variety of sources and various solutions.

When it shows for iexplorer.exe the general fix is to uninstall any third party toolbars (especially Google). Also re-setting IE via Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset...

When it shows for explorer.exe it is often associated with BHO's or ActiveX files. BHO Captor is one tool to clean these up. You can also go to Tools > Manage Add-ons > Enable or Disable Add-ons

Also you can try this little app:

First off see what items come up red tagged or pink. Again you are looking for BHO's here.


Also this error is sometimes caused by running multiple anti-virus software.
