How can I get rid of my e-mails?
I was searching for a particular site, using Google, when suddenly 11 of my e-mail messages appeared. I thought I had deleted them, but it seems that everything I ever wrote is somewhere in the history of my computer. I really, really, really want to get rid of them. How do I do that?

What e-mail program are you using?
Was this G-Mail (Google mail)?
In most cases right clicking entries offers the option to delete one by one.
There are many steps to take for individual programs but CCleaner is a good overall tool to clean things up.
Also I will add another post with IE options.

Turning off AutoComplete completely
If you don't like seeing your user names, passwords, and other information sitting in drop-down windows, tell Windows to stop by doing this:
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Choose Internet Options from the Tools menu.
3. Click the Content tab.
4. Click the AutoComplete button.
5. Click to remove checkmarks from these items:
* Web addresses
* Forms
* User names and passwords on forms
* Prompt me to save passwords
6. Click the Clear Forms button.
7. Click the Clear Passwords button.
8. Click OK.
Deleting old entries from the Search Companion
But you're not through yet. Windows XP's Search Companion also includes an AutoComplete feature, so it can remember every file and phrase you've searched for. Here's how to turn it off, as well:
1. Choose Search from the Start menu.
2. Choose Change Preferences.
3. Choose Turn AutoComplete off.

Just as an after-thought: if you mean that Google is returnning hits for your e-mail address this means you posted that address on-line somewhere and Google just picks it up as that is what Google does.

Thanks for your help. What I had done was use the Google search engine for the phrase "need to talk to someone". 11 entries, some e-mails, some documents with that phrase in it, showed up. I was very alarmed. I thought once I deleted something, that was deleted. Apparently not?
