Cant Adjust screen resolution!!
i have a sony vaio computer with a compaq screen. the computer had alot of issues and i lost the original backup cd to restore it so i tried a friends backup cd and it worked. they have a gateway computer so i dont know how it was possible? anyway the screen looked horribe so i tried to adjust the resolution and the slider wont budge at all!! its stuck at 640x480. someone please help me out!! oh and heres the specs:

Welcome to DAL;
We can't see that link you posted as it's stored on your hard drive. However, try to find out what sort of graphics card you have, this will be written somewhere in the same dialog that you change the resolution in. Then we can try and find some drivers for it, and hopefully fix it.

right click on your desktop, go to properties, then the Settings tab, and there is a line that reads;
Display:
*monitor name* on *graphics card*
For me it's
Plug 'n' play monitor on Nvidia Geforce 7300GT
It's the last part you want, should give you the manufacturer.
