Can I hook my older tv up to my computer?
Ok..I have a Dell Optiplex Gx260 and an older Magnavox tv. My question is, is there anyway to hook my computer up to my older tv so that i could use my tv screen to watch videos and movies and stuff such as that? If so, what all would i need to do this? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Brandon

You need a video card with TV out. The problem is, your TV has probably only a 75 OHM type F rf jack. A decent video card will have an S connector for TV out, not an F. If your TV has only 75 ohm input, you would need to get an rf modulator to convert the S signal from the card to F type (75 ohm). There is a very good chance the displayed signal on TV is not going to be as good as the signal coming from your VCR, or your antenna, so you are going to get disappointed.
The good news it the price of AGP cards have come down a lot becasue the new standard is PCI Express. If your computer has AGP port, you may be able to get a good deal on the AGP type and then get to play with it just for the heck of it. If not, I would not spend my time and money sending vedio from computer to an old TV. Buying a DVD player or VCR, is going to be cheaper and faster to achieve the same results.
