    c drive

i have a problem wiht system restore. I had like 5.7Gig on my computer and i thought i had a virus so i used system restore. Well it worked but i wanted to undo my last restoration. So... i did this and it failed a few times. and the last time it worked but now i have like 4.12 gigs left. that is very low cuz i have to run games and stuff so it might crash and the computer might not work again. So i hope jephree can help me or something solve this problem

System restore is a handy tool and i sugest you keep it running, but it does use a fair bit of hard drive space. Have you tried disk cleanup? (start>all programs>accesories>system tools>disk cleanup)

also un-install any un wanted programs... if your computer seems slow, scan for spyware and viruses, you may also want to consider upgrading your RAM... how much do you curently have?

    Run CCleaner

    http://www.ccleaner.com/
    on a regular basis.
It removes unnecessary stuff and remnants from your computer.

    Also defragment regularly.

This will all help to speed up, and free space.

well i have the cleaner programs. but it did not make much of a difference. Will the upgrading of the RAM increase my file space? I also noticed my computer running very slow because of the system restore. im not sure what to do

How large are your hard drives?

6GB is a bare minimum for XP SP2 and happiness.

The size of System Restore is adjustable from 0 to 12% of the total drive.

You cannot alter the C: partition from within windows but you can with GParted

However if your total drive is only 6GB I would seriously consider a new hard drive.
