Well my problem is why is my Download Rate becomes 5 kb/sec..... But i use a DSL with a 256 kb speed... How can i make it higher? or how can i fix it Please Reply...... Thank u Help me Please

Is this speed constant on all downloads?

Often download speeds are determined by the server you are downloading from.

Your DSL rate is very general to begin with and just represent what should be possible.

There is not much you can do assuming you have the proper hardware and cables provided by your ISP.

You could call your ISP and have them test your connection.

Well.... i have this Program called Bearshare Download it has a 256 higher Download Rate.... But when i download a file in a Site 1st it is 150 kb/sec download rate but after 10 sec. it become 10 kb/sec lower..... How Can i Fix it?

if you download a file from internet explorer or firefox do you get reasonable download speeds?

If so, then there is absolutely nothing you can do apart from download what you need from another location

if you download a file on your browser that you are reading this on, does it download at a reasonable speed?

as Jephree said, it depends where you are downloading it from... if the server only has a speed of 56Kbps, that is the fastest it will download

so if your download speeds are ok from other places, it is the files source that it the problem (i.e. the place the file is coming from and not your computer)

Well u see... My friend Downloaded a Manga and he also use a 256kb DSL
and his download rate is 150 kb higher then when i tried in my PC it only takes 10 kb/sec but we download the file in the same site....

if you download this what speed do you get?

as Jephree said, there is not alot you can do to speed up your download speeds

well 1st it was 28.7 kb/sec but after that it become 5kb then becomes 10kb

So can i really solve this problem....
Or maybe its because of my Modem???
