Hi again,

As a few of you will know i have had i problem with my computer - it decides to just turn off by itself no matter what i am doing. If i leave it for 5 minutes and turn it back on, it will run normally.

It has been suggested that the problem may be to do with heat/power/memory.

HOWEVER a pattern is occouring. When i run Norton anti-virus to scan my whole pc, it will always shut down when scanning the WINDOWS folder. I have run smaller scale scan on this folder and again, the PC will shut down. Suspicious no? I tries to wittle the trouble making file down furtehr, by scanning each individual fodler within the WINDOWS folder, but to no avail.


Any ideas which couls help, my far more educated pals?

Does it still shut down at all if you do not run norton?
Have you tried running Norton in safe mode?
