    Unhappy XP restarts after Boot

hey everyone, i kind of have a big problem, yesterday i was playing a game (we all get bored at times) and suddenly my computer just freezes, so i restarted it, now when i turn it on it will recognise the hard disk, and start to load XP, but as soon as it gets to the boot screen, it loads the boot screen, then the it will restart...... my friend suspects it is something to do with Maybe the HDD being a hitatchi make?

but i really need the data on that disk, as my computer runs as a web host, because i host and build all my websites from that one machine!!, and one is soon to be its due date 'EEK'

    any ideas?

By the way my computer is:
    Gigabyte K8VM800M (MOBO)
    Radeon 9250 (AGP)
    Radeon 9700 (PCI)
    1.6Ghz AMD Sempron 2800+
    512Mb RAM
160Gb Hitatchi Deskstar (PATA - IDE)
    DVD-ROM (Pioneer DVD-115)
    Windows XP Pro SP2

My guess is a corrupt file in the windows system32 folder. This happens a lot and the only thing to do is re-install windows xp. If your pc is rebooting now after the boot screen, it would either be that or possible a memory problem.
