My cd drives from time to time just dont work but whne i re-boot my computer they work again but it happened again and now my keyboard doesnt work or my cd drives. any advice? (p.s. always have a spare keyboard this visual keyboard sucks)

Does the keyboard work at the BIOS level?

Does the keyboard and or CD drive LED's light up when you power on?

Check the Device Manager for the status of both:

Right click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager

no the keyboard does not, when i start my computer i have the thing were what shows it starting up and so i look for it to come up in the BOIS thing, but it wont show. and by the way, device manager wont show them either.

If the drives and keyboard are not detected by the BIOS then this is either a BIOS or motherboard problem.

The Power Supply Unit is also very suspect when strange things start to happen.

Is this a new problem? Is this an old computer?

Just to verify: you get no LED activity on either CD drives or keyboard?

yea its a new computer and that when i stat it up there is no LED lighting up on the front. but the drives still eject.

If it is a new computer under warranty I would suggest returning it.
