RTHDCPL.EXE -Illegal system DLL Relocation
Right after receiving the latest Auto download from Microsoft, I have been receiving the following error message during boot up of system.
"The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for windows DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL."
Anyone know of a fix?

rthdcpl.exe is a process belonging to the Realtek HD Audio Control Panel and is bundled alongside Realtek sound cards and audio hardware.
hhctrl.ocx is a Microsoft ActiveX which supports all functions of the user help interface.
Are you recieving both these errors?

Thanks for the thanks.
Apparently Microsoft was aware of the issue with the update and posted the patch along with the update.
They just didn't point it out till after the fact when all the complaints started rolling in.

I think my problem is related albeit it is not identical. I already had to restore from my most recent back-up once & do not wish to go through it again. The err msg reads:
The System DLL User32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred bcz the DLL ...HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address......
I believe this has to do with ZoneAlarm as it has now stopped working. Any help here is greatly appreciated.
