When i try to launch wintv 2000 it never works so i checked the error logs and it said this: "Faulting application wintv2k.exe, version 4.11.24011.0, faulting module mfc42.dll, version 6.2.4131.0, fault address 0x00063603. Event ID 1000"

does anyone know what to do about this?

Is this the only program with problems or are there others?

If it is only this one I would first try a System Restore to a point when it did work or else uninstall and reinstall it.

If it is more than just this program then the problem might be in XP and we can offer other ideas.

It is more than just this program. Microsoft money and dell media experience have the same problem. There are no restore points before this problem so i can't do that.

What is the exact Dell model?

It's a dell dimension 4600. I've tried reinstalling win tv about 4 times and it still don't work. I don't want to reinstall money cause I'm scared i might looses all the information. I was talking to a guy from wintv tech support and he said it was a problem with the windows file mfc42.dll but he didn't say how to fix it and won't respond to any more emails.

As mentioned you can run sfc /scannow if you have an XP CD from Dell.

I also note that particular .dll is often corrupted by Toolbars such as Xupiter

Thanks that fixed the problem. I downloaded one of those active x toolbars to watch a video. I think thats how it got screwed up.
