Unhappy Dell Dimension 4100 Won't Start

ok, so i recently formatted the two had drive on my dell. i then opened the case to see if i could remove the smaller hard drive (i have 2, a 11gb and a 150gb). It was stuck in the corner, so i decided to not try getting it out. I then put the case back on, and started up the computer. it beeps 3 times when i push the on button, and there is no display on the monitor. what's wrong with it?

    thanks,

    try re-seating your memory (RAM)

do you have a video card or onboard video?

yes, i have a GeForce MX-400, and i tried reseting the ram. I think it might be a keyboard card failure. is there any way i can replace it?

is it 1 long beep then 2 short beeps? if so, this suggests a video card problem... try un-plugging the video card and using onboard video

if that doesnt work, look at the 4 LED's at the back (labelled a, b, c and d) and note the colour of them, they will either be green, yellow or off (maybe red but not sure)

this should then help you trouble shoot your problem

EDIT: i think it's a ram issue, i'll try reseting them again

EDIT2: the ram dosn't seem to be all the way in place, i tried pushing them in place, but no use. I'll ask my dad to help me when he gets home. Thanks again for all your help!

EDIT3: My dad helped me lock the ram in place, not it boots fine. thanks again for all your help, this thread can now be locked
