Hi.
My computer reboots automatically. A blue screen flashes up with a message but diappears before I can read one word. The computer reboots. I have tried "safe mode "and "last known good configuation", but nothing seems to work. The problem occured during a reboot. I initiated the reboot because I could not send out emails. I encountered the problem before but after several attempts the computer logged on successfully. Any suggestions?

If you cannot enter any Safe Mode options you will need to boot your CD or use the manufacturer's hot key for entering the Recovery Console.
The first thing to try here is FIXBOOT
If that doesn't work try FIXMBR
If that doesn't work try BOOTCFG
If that doesn't work you probably need to run a Repair Install.

I've taken it to a local shop for repairs because I cannot find my windows disk and I cannot get to my desktop.

It appears that the hard drive has bit the dust. The tech tried to ghost it but could not access data. The error is on the FAT so windows will not start. Drive must be replaced
