    system restore failure

When I attempt system restore in XP (SP2), checking a date that appears in bold, system reboots OK but Windows opens with message: Can't restore to [date]. Problem has been going on about half year.

There remain 6.5 gig free on drive. Hardware is a Lenovo/IBM T60.

    Help welcome!

    Reset System Restore.

System Restore only creates a certain amount of disk space (12%) default.

Also some changes cannot be restored.

To reset System Restore (which will erase all former restore points) Right click on My Computer then click Properties then System Restore the turn it off and then back on.

This will erase all previous points but should reset the System Restore to begin creating new ones.

You might want to consider a larger hard drive.

I see that laptop listed at 100GB hard drive.

If you have 94GB filled then there is not much room for anything new.
