are the messages on a blue or black screen?
if it is a blue screen, what is the pricess name (*?*?.exe or .sys or similar) and aslo the STOP code (e.g. 0x0000006D)
This is a BIOS failure. That is the last step before your BIOS looks for your Boot device.
If it looks and finds no device it should return that error. If it is not throwing an error it is stuck in looking and can't resolve the issue.
This can be due to overclocking and or any unsuitable BIOS settings.
Try entering the BIOS Setup and set Default settings and Save and Exit.
If that doesn't help you may need to clear your CMOS.
And if that doesn't help you may need to flash your BIOS.
Please ask if you are unfamiliar with any of these procedures.

This is 'pushing' your processor in order to achieve better performance... it can be dangerous if the cooling in your system is not sufficient
or any unsuitable BIOS settings.
This is the screen which can be accessed before windows loads and looks something like this (sometimes gray) and stands for baisic inpout/output system (please correct me if im wrong??)
Try entering the BIOS Setup and set Default settings and Save and Exit.
If that doesn't help you may need to clear your CMOS.
