Problem
- When I attempt to play any sort of audio file, it won't work.
Audio files present the message "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." I've already tracked down and reinstalled the driver for my on-board sound card.
- When i attempt to play any sort of video file, it won't work either. No message is shown, but whichever media program I'm in freezes and the monitor begins to blink off an on every few seconds. I've already downloaded and installed the driver for my nVidia card, so I don't know what the problem could be.
- Any sort of audio or video media that I attempt to play through IE or Firefox also crashes and "freaks" the computer out.
If anyone could give me any suggestions, or links to different drivers, it would be much appreciated. I've had this problem before, and the same solution didn't fix it this time. It's really killing me not being able to listen to music. Thanks.
P.S. If you'd like any more information about my computer, just ask.

no, at least not recently

ok, just for reference, what did you do to correct the problem last time? Check your sound properties. Make sure that it's going through the right sound card also, sometimes Windows likes to put up a fight....

Well, last time I kept reinstalling the drivers, over and over...and then over again some more. At least 50 times. So I posted on D-A-L, and someone told me to reinstall the drivers, and THAT TIME it worked.
My audio just started randomly working again, but the video still crashes the program and makes my computer have seizures.
