when i try to open att yahoo from the start menu this error pops up the application failed to start because MSVCR70.dll was not found and something about reinstalling it so anyways i downloaded that MSVCR70.dll then extracted it to c windows thingy majig and it still says that HELP

That needs to be in C:\WINDOWS\system32

If this is a new problem you can also try a system restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
