how to run system recovery from start-up?

For some odd reason my computer won't let me start and shows a message: unmountable_boot_volume. I'm thinking I deleted something accidentally as this happened once before, question is how do I load "system recovery" from startup so I restore all programs and devices?

Also-I don't have a disk, but all programs are stored in the second harddisk of my computer (D: drive i think).

If they did not provide you with a cd for restoration, then the restore program is in what you called the "D" direve partition. Do a directry display of that partition, and go thru the listed programs. One of the file should be called system restore. If not, then please answere the questions asked by the Moderators from DAL, they will be able to help you much more. Before you do a system restore, make sure to save copies of your important files outside of your computer.
