I have a Dell Dimension 4600, that has an 80 Gig drive for the master and a 120 Gig set for slave on the same Primary ide controler. The 80Gig drive is partitioned into 2 x35Gig drives, one having XP Pro, and the other having XP Home: both have SP2. When i boot into home, and look into the properties for the primary ide controler, in device manager, for my slave on the primary (120 Gig western digital) it says pio, even though the pull down says "dma if available".
When i boot into pro it says that its dma 2, as it should. any one know what i can do to get it to be enabled in home? (Media Based software and such take forever to complete)...thanks for any help
