last two weeks dell inspiron 9400 laptop giving me ialmrnt5 driver failure reinstalled the driver from intel, done system restore back 1 month, new system board put in laptop, been on the phone with dell numourious times with no luck.

still goes back to 800 * 600 resolution with 4 colour display randomly can anyone please help.

wont let me install these drivers says this to me after picking the right driver for the hardware that i've got.
The driver is not validated for this computer. please contact your computer manufacturer.

So sometimes all is well? And sometimes not? Can you elaborate on the changes and how or when they happen?

Perhaps check your Event Viewer for any coincidental issues:

Check your Event Viewer via Administrative Tools.

Open the System as well as Application tabs and look for red X errors that coincide with your problem. Details here:
