When computer is switched on,it boots up then just after the windows XP logo appears it reboots.I have tried it with safe mode and last good known configuration but still reboots after the logo goes off.
Can any one offer any advice please.

If your BIOS has failsafe defaults, now would be a good time to try them. If not, you could try resetting it by removing the motherboard battery and/or resetting it according to your motherboard's manual. You could also try using the Windows Xp disc to attempt a repair.
