Re: My PC hangs at the Windows loading screen

Did you ever clear the CMOS jumper on the motherboard?

If so remove all but one stick of RAM and try that stick in different slots.

The next easiest step would be to test your Power Supply.

I read the manual but I didn't find anythin on it about clearin the CMOS so i just took the battery out for like 5 minutes then i put it back, but the problem is still there. Not sure if i have a CMOS jumper on the motherboard.

I'm going to test the RAM stick now & tell u wat happens.

Thanx 4 da fast reply. I'm in a holiday & i'm tryin 2 fix the pc fast so i can enjoy the rest of it.

ok I just took one RAM & it started working.

The question, How can i know if the problem is from the RAM or the MoBo's RAM socket??

Try using the RAM you removed to replace the RAM that worked.

If both sticks work by themselves then we have that.

Then try each alone in either slot.

There is also the possibility that the two sticks are not compatible with each other.

ok i tried each RAM separately on each slot & they worked.
So i put them back both of them & now there is no problems.
    I think they were lose.

    Thanx 4 da help

No problem. Glad all is well. Reseating RAM is always a good first check.

Let us know if we can help further in the future.

I would run a diagnostic on your hard drive. The manufacturer will have one on their web site.

If you don't know the manufacturer look in the Device Manager under Disk drives.

Device Manager = right click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager

You could also try running Check Disk via start Run...

Type: cmd then type in the command prompt: chkdsk /f

When told the volume is in use choose Y to run on next boot and reboot.
