Hi. I was hoping someone could guide me through the steps to enable me to drag a window about again. At the moment all I can drag is the outline of it, until I release the mouse button. I was told how to do it ages ago, but just cant remember how I went about it last time.

Do you mean moving like a internet page over or a new Document? if so just click the title bar and drag. You have to make the window smaller to drag.

No, what I mean is... if I have several windows open and need to see underneath one of them to view another, when I drag the window I'm only draging the outline of the window, not the whole 'solid' window. So if I need to have a quick look underneath something, I have to drag it, realese the mouse button (where it will be placed in its new location on the screen), then drag it back and release again. Normally I'd just hang on to it, and be able to place it straight back where it was in the first place, without having to use the mouse button at all, another than to keep hold of the thing.

Its something in tools or settings, then advanced, something like that, but I'm lost and just cant fathom out what I did last time.

I've found it. Incase anyone else wonders. Control Panel, Display, Appearance, Effects, tick the box, OK, then Apply.

i thinkn i know what you are talking about. try this and see if its what you need:

click start, right click my computer, click the advance tab, under performance click settings, check show window contents while dragging.

this should be what you want. let me know if this was what you are talking about.

This setting is found here:

--> Right click an empty area of your desktop.

--> Properties

--> Appearance

--> Effects

--> Place a checkmark in the "Show window contents while dragging" checkbox to enable this setting. Remove the checkmark to disable it.
