    Random BSoD stop errors.

    Hello.
I've registered on this site as I am sick of these errors and would like some help if possible please.

Over the 3years I have had my pc I have never had one BSoD, recently within the past month they are non-stop (upto 5-6times daily), and vary in what is supposedly to blame and also when they happen.

So far the stop errors have pointed towards:
    IRQL_NOT_EQUAL
    AegisP.sys
    atapi.sys
    ntfs.sys
    usbport.sys
    PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

These are just the recent ones which I bothered to write down.

It also randomly restarts every now and then.

I have even completely formatted my PC and re-installed everything fresh, I have also ran scandisk and chkdsk (not sure if thats the right name).

I have the windows debugger tools installed and ready for the dump files.

I'm at my wits end, please can anyone help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Please post some logs.

Also if your blue screen is showing a memory dump do the following:

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.
If no .dmp files check for minidump.
Remember this location and the path that leads to it.

    Then:

    1) Download and install the

    Debugging Tools from Microsoft

All you need do is download and install this. Make no attempt to start or run it.

    2) Download and install this

    debugwiz

This is a DOS based batch file that will command the above Microsoft Tools.

    3) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.

    4) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.

If you are looking for links on how to interpret this data for yourself try here first:

Just in general it sounds like a hardware fault.

Hi, I've attached a few logs from the latest couple of BSoD errors.

I also ran memtest86 v1.7 overnight for 8.5 hours and it came up with no errors.

Try turning off and stopping Zone Alarm from starting. Turn on your XP firewall instead.

Also do you actively use Virtual PC? If not turn it off and stop it from starting.

See if this changes any behavior.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I'll turn off the ZoneAlarm and see how I go with that.

I do use Virtual PC a fair bit and this problem was occuring long before I started using that so I'm guessing that won't be the problem?

I'll post back if I get any more BSoD's.

ZoneAlarm and Firewalls in general can be very troublesome at times.

If turning it off changes things (no BSOD's) then you might consider not using it or at least uninstalling and reinstalling.

One of those dumps was triggered or faulted over an action of Virtual PC but it could easily have been the fault of ZA as well.

Well after a few days free of BSoD errors, I have had two within the space of a few minutes.
I've attached the latest dump files.
    Can anyone help with them?
    Thanks in advance.

Curiously one of those dumps was pointing to System Restore as the trigger.

In general they are showing a bad driver most likely associated with your network connection i.e. LAN or wireless adapter.

Do you have these drivers to reinstall?

Two of the earlier dumps list memory corruption, see below. Memtest isn't perfect.

    Suggestions:
    1. If you have more than one stick of RAM, run one at a time to see if it still crashes.
    2. Try a different memory slot.
    3. Downclock the RAM
    4. Re-allocate the pagefile.

    BugCheck 4E, {8f, 1f694, f694, 0}
    Probably caused by : memory_corruption
PFN_PAGE_SINGLE_BIT_ERROR: Bugcheck args 2 and 3 differ by a bit, its hardware error.
    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: MEMORY_CORRUPTION_ONE_BIT

    BugCheck 1000000A, {250, 2, 1, 804dc65b}
    Probably caused by : memory_corruption
    CHKIMG_EXTENSION: !chkimg -lo 50 -d !nt
    8054a444-8054a447 4 bytes - nt!MiAllocatePoolPages+9a8
    [ 04 74 35 64:40 a4 55 80 ]
    4 errors : !nt (8054a444-8054a447)
    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: MEMORY_CORRUPTION_LARGE

Yes I will have a go at re-installing them.

How would I do either of thses two?

    Thanks.
