Online Video Streams So slow! Any solution?

I was just wondering, why my connection is at a good speed, but when wanting to see some videos online (youtube.com for example) it is so slow to load the video, is it has anything to do with my Firewall or router? Thanks

Could be a lot of traffic on that website at that time..

Try disabling your firewall and then see if a connection is faster, but dont complete any downloads. If it improves, you know you have to unblock a port.

Perhaps the same deal is with your router. I know when I download certain updates I turn on port-forwarding in my router and got to make sure my ports are enabled.

Here's a list of ports after a quick google: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/..._port_list.htm
check to see what program is being used to see video, (Quicktime, WMP, Winamp, DivX, etc.)

To enable/disable ports your best bet is to open up your firewall program and under security you may find something about ports.

What Firewall program do you use? What router type do you have?
