speakers not working
I am running Windows XP. Last week my wife downloaded a screen saver and our computer started running slow. So she deleted it and now its running as fast as it ever has but now we have no sound.
I have checked the speaker connections etc. and everything seems to be fine.
I then went to the control panel and clicked "sounds and audio devices". This opens up the box titled "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties". The box appears but I am not able to click on anything. The box appears normal but all of the options in the box are in a light gray color, kind of like that box is in safe mode or something. I am not able to move the volume control or click on anything.
Other than this the computer seems to be running fine, there is just no sound. I'm lost. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Max

What is the make and model of the computer?
You probably need to reload the audio drivers.

It is an emachines T5010.
I have not tried to reload the audio drives.

Do you have the driver CD? If so I would try that.

We got it fixed. Thanks for the help.
