Hi Guys,

I hope some of you can help me! For some reason my laptop will not allow me to log into my msn messenger or even into my hotmail account?? I have run a system check with norton antivirus and no virus has been detected? also i have no other problems with using the internet, only with hotmail and messenger? any ideas what it might be??

try making a new account and if that works then contact microsoft to find out whats wrong with your account.

My account is fine. I can sign in to it on any other computer, just not on my laptop (which is connected via ethernet cable) it is bizarre! the problem seems to be with firewalls but when i try to look into it all i get is an error message saying i cant view the content of the windows firewall file due to an unidentified error??

the thing is tho i need the laptop to view e-mail attachments that our other computers dont have the software for?

Click Start>run and type: Firewall.cpl
Is OFF ticked?

ok, this throws up the same error message "due to an unidentified problem,windows cannot display windows firewall settings"

do you have windows live onecare?
