    Standby options missing. computer overheats

Hi. I was cleaning my computer and axcedently deleted somthing for mistake.
Well then when i closed the lid of my lop top it didnt go to standby. So i went to the control panel and was going to change the settings (in power options, advanced) again but the only option was "do nothing" but before there always was "go to standby". Do anybody know where i can get it again? somewhere i can download it? or is that inpossible without formatting the computer?

    Hi

Use these two to setup and/or troubleshoot Power options:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...hibernate.mspx
    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_standby.htm

As for the heating issue, download and run Sensors View
Look for the temperatures, voltages and fan speeds and report them all back.
