    Live Update is ccApp.exe

End Task in the Task Manager.

Right click an empty area of the Taskbar and then click Task Manager > Processes

You can also see if it is listed in Services and Disable it.

start > Administrative Tools > Services

No ccApp.exe only ccSvcHst.exe - Same or not the same?

    Probably. The cc is Norton.

Hey, You are the best! The computer geek guy at work said "Oh I can't figure it out if I don't look at the computer" And you DID IT!! You figured out just by me typing in MY problems down to the Anti-virus program!! Yipeeeee - Anyway this morning; since it would not let me uninstall the Norton last night; I got up went into safe mode uninstalled the "live update program" THEN I went back downloaded the uninstall program you gave me and it worked! You are my computer God! NOW do YOU think I should try to "re-install" the program I purchased online? Thank you so much!!

In my opinion I would never use a Norton product again. I have in the past.

AVG Free is just as good of an Anti-Virus plus it is much more user friendly with XP.

I doubt that you can get your money back from Symantec but the meaning/value of this is your decision.

You could try to reinstall just to see if it goes OK this time. Now you know how to get rid of it if it still fails.

    Thanks for the thanks!
