i had a problem that reuired me to format c:/ drive which in turn had to reinstall xp thats fine all done but the problem is that i cant find my other hard drive that is plugged in when i do a search for it nothing comes up only the c:/ how can i solve this ?

Is it an IDE slave drive? Or a SATA drive?

Is it detected in the BIOS?

Hi, when you reinstalled windows did you use FAT32 format or NTFS?

If you did it FAT32 and your other drive is NTFS format, theres a chance that your windows drive wont see it. That's just another thought, but like jephree said, first, you do need to know whether it is actually showing up in the BIOS as an IDE drive, or if its SATA that it is showing on the SATA controller BIOS and that its configured correctly.

If the BIOS or SATA controller doesn't see the drive, then windows wont have a clue that it exists.
