What do you mean by load?

Are you having problems starting XP or Installing XP?

Was XP pre-installed on this computer or do you have a retail XP CD?

If the former what is the make and model of the computer?

starting windows. it freezes during the loading proces.

Where exactly does it freeze? The first XP screen? The login screen?

Can you boot into Safe Mode? Tap F8 after the BIOS POST but before XP tries to start.

Also do you have the XP CD?

if i remember right it frezzes durinf the login screen.
yes my brother has the cd.

Can you start in Safe Mode?

If not boot the CD and enter the Recovery Console and type:

FIXBOOT

when my brother loads his computer it restarts i can get it safe mode but it shuts off when i have him load it with last configuration. what do i do when i get him to safe mode
