Xp Banshee Driver 3dfx
my XP picture gets large and distorted and the box that appears on the screen says the banshee video driver has problems and needs to close. so i turn off the computer and reboot, and it's fine until the next time. is this the card i have to replace, or can i download a driver, and if so what and where will i find it, and can i get step by step instructions for installing it, if that's what i have to do. it has become more frequent since i had DSL installed. the man at the computer store said i needed a card, and they are about 75.00 to 100.00. i hate to pay that much for repairs on a computer this outdated. can anyone help me? thank you in advance.

Hi and welcome to D-A-L
have you tried a system restore to before the problem occurred?
have you been to the device manager and disabled the driver and rebooted?

to brain damage:
thanks for the help, i did a system restore at one time but i don't remember if it was before the problem with banshee. i followed your advise and disabled the video driver today, rebooted the computer and then, enabled the video driver again. is this what i was supposed to do?
if it crashes again i'll be back for help.
many thanks, peggy

when you reboot it should install the drivers.
