Hi This is my first posting and as I am not an Expert please would you kindly explain what to do in simple non technical language.

I am running XP pro and I think I have blaster worm virus, as my computer keeps shutting down and then re-booting itself.

It's all my fault as for years I have managed to get away with out using any anti virus but not any more as I have it on now.

In order not to confuse anyone my computer has removable hard drives in trays, so I am typing this using a non infected hard drive which has anti virus.

The problem is all my important files are on the infected hard drive which keeps on re-booting when I try and use it.

I should also mention at this point that I have the patch to cure Blaster Worm on a CD disc but I do not have the slightest idea what I am supposed to do?

I don't have an XP rescue disc but if I knew how I could make one using this hard drive.

Apart from that I am hopelessly lost and don't know what to do.

Please could somebody help me by explaining it step by step in simple non technical language.
