GUI application message on laptop.
Hi,
I bought my father a basic laptop for xmas running Windows XP, 1.6ghz, 512mb ram, 40gb hard drive, solely for itunes and web browsing.
This week I set it up for wireless internet (provided by Blueyonder) but now everytime we start up the laptop and it has loaded in there is a message that pops up saying...
GUI WWU application has already existed
This doesn't seem to cause any problems with the running of the machine at the moment but I have no idea what the message means or how to get rid of it.
Its also very annoying that it appears everytime we switch on the laptop.
If anyone can help solve this I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you
Derek Watson
P.S.
hope I am posting this in the correct forum, but as I have no idea whats causing the problem I thought this would be a good place to start

Do you have any idea what the WWU application is?
Go to start Run... msconfig > Startup
See if you see a line mentioning WWU. If so uncheck the box and reboot.
On restart you will get a message that you are starting in diagnostic mode.
Click the box that says "Don't show this again".

I think its sorted now.
I can't explain it but for some reason Windows appeared to be detecting my Wireless Adaptor twice!!!!
I just uninstalled the adaptor and then reinstalled it, rebooted the laptop and it all seems fine now, very bizarre.
