insert the xp disk into the drive, when you first turn your computer on, enter the bios screen (usually by pressing F2) change your CD drive to the primary boot device and restart (with the cd in) when it says press any key to boot from cd, press something...
setup will then load and give you options, it should say to repair.... using the recovery console press R
use this option (by pressing R)
type in the following (do not type the brackets or what is in them)
/fixboot (press enter)
/fixmbr (press enter)
this could also be a memory problem, have you upgraded or had someone upgrade your computer since you got it?
do you have 1 stick of memory (RAM) or 2?
are your fans working? (i dont think overheating is the problem though because this happens straight away... or am i wrong?)
see this link for more info.

you cannot do any physical damage, if it is a windows problem, the worst that can happen is you will need todo a clean install of windows and re-install drivers and things... if you need to do this, you will lose all data
do you get this every time you turn your computer on? or can you use your computer for a period of time without recieving this error?

Go to start | search (type in) .dmp
Note the location of your .dmp files.
If no .dmp files check for minidump.
Remember this location and the path that leads to it.
1) Open the Wiz & Browse to, or paste in the path to, your .dmp file.
2) After the Wiz creates a Text document attach it back to this thread.
