I just got a new computer and everything works great except for the Internet Explorer (7 I think) wont close using the x. If I right click down in the toolbar it closes fine. I have windows XP. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What happens when you click the X?

Nothing at all? Any error message?

If you are using Tabs will the X on the tabs close the tab?

When I click the X the first time it freezes the page, then when I click it the second time I get the program not responding message. If I click something that wants to open a new window, it freezes and I have to close it by right clicking the toolbar. I have to do that twice and I get the not responding message. I also get the send report message, when I click send, it sends it but I don't get any response from that.

As a first try I would go to start > All Programs > Windows Update

Click Express which will be all Critical updates. See if this changes anything.

I tried the windows update, it will start to search for updates and then freezes after it clicks like its trying to open a new window. I ran my virus search and it picked up a few cookies, I deleted them, still no change.

I was finally able to get my windows update to work, it installed Office XP service pack 3. Still no change with internet explorer.
