I live in Italy and now find myself in need of purchasing a new computer. The problem I have is that I would like to acquire one with an English operating system and not Italian. This is proving to be extremely difficult here. I was wondering if it would be possible (probably not) to purchase a computer and then do a factory re-install using the discs from my current (American) computer. What difficulties would this entail? Is it possible without Microsoft suing (an exageration) me? What about drivers for hardware etc. that would be included on the new system.....they would not be present if I did a factory install. Any help and/or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I know you might not like this, but, you are living in Italy now.

You should be able to be fluent in Italian and fit in like when in Rome.

Or you can be bold and goto microsofts download site and get a language pack, I know I did when I wanted it in Welsh.

Hello and thanks for the reply. Actually I am fluent in Italian, the problem is that my wife is Thai and she bought a Thai/English keyboard before coming here and she is not yet fluent in Italian, and only moderately so in English. If I were to purchase one in Italian the keyboard would no longer work and so she would be unable to email her family and friends in Thailand. Therefor I am trying to figure out a way to do get an English interface. Could you please elaborate on the language pack you mentioned that I could download from Microsoft?
