Hi I'm worried about the slowness of my laptop, it takes ages to boot up and starting any progammes. This has just developed since downloading service pack 2. Also a trial run of Norton antivirus 06. Can you put me in the direction a cure for this problem. Stitcher

how much RAM do you have?

have you finished with Norton, have you removed it?

I still have the Norton connection.Have run a scan with no problems. My ram is 128mb with the use of approx. 2/3ds

I can't understand how you can run xp and norton on 128mb r.a.m.

Are you sure thats the correct amount?

Norton, especially 2006 and newer would use 1gb minimum (I would suggest) it's such a resource hog.

Personal 2 cents worth = Dump Norton. avast! (alwil) and Free AVG (Grisoft) are perfectly good FREE AV programs.

i've got the pro version of AVG but i find it takes up a huge amount of processing power and is really slow. I'm running a Dell 3.4Ghz 1gig Ram
