Hello there! My wife has left me & her job but left her work Dell laptop. I have to return it to her former employer but it has private e-mails I sent to her & vise versa when we expereienced better times. I would prefer the company did not get these but I do not know her password. Is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks

e-mails are not saved on the computer unless you use outlook or another similar program... if you use yahoo, hotmail, gmail, aol mail, bt mail then your e-mails are not saved on your computer... the only way anyone can acces these emails is if her password is stored for the e-mail provider on the internet browser and someone goes to that site and logs in as her
Hope that all made sense,
Mike

If you're looking here for a means of bypassing a system security measure, you won't find it. It's all in the site rules.
Going on this basis, it seems strange that your wife would leave her work laptop. You have two choices;
Ask her to remove the emails.
Use a utility to stomp on the hard disk and kill all the data/files. You may however suffer some legal complications from your wifes place of work for performing such an action on their property.
