And also when I type '1' in the notepad, it get displayed '0001' or '1000'. I have already scanned my computer for viruses, spyware, adware through trial version of nortron internet security 2007, mcafee internet securtiy 2007 and quick heal internet security 2006, but all went invain. So plz help me in solving my problem. Looking forward to get your help

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Also you might want to read this post and follow the instructions:

It might be useful to post a log in that section of the forum.

After this issue is cleared up you should go to Windows Update and install SP2 and all subsequent Critical Updates.

Also running XP with only 128MB RAM is very problematic. You should have at least 256MB if not 512MB.

I have already restored my system to a prior good condition, but It didn't solve my problem, My Antivirus definition is up to date( dec 28th 2006 IST), is this due to a virus or something else, because norton mcafee quickheal all are unable to detect any suspicious things
