I have dialup only where I live and everytime I connect, the connection monitor says it is sending. This has been going on for a month or more now and really lows down getting emails etc.

Does anyone know what is going on?

are you using any extension leads, what speed are you connecting at?

I don't know what you mean by extension leads. My connect speed is usually 44.0 Kbytes. I thought it was doing automatic updates but the data is going out, not in.

check the firewall settings it may be blocking incoming data
