i just installed my cd rw to my computer but it does not eject, the light just flashes

Is it detected under My Computer?

If so right click it and try: Eject

na it is not detected

Assuming that this is a USB device: is it detected when you plug it in?

You should hear a little ding ding sound plus the task bar should pop up a new hardware balloon.
