    Question Hard Drive

Could any one help, I have a Packard Bell Imedia 5093 I got the system second hand as the hard drive was beyond repaire.
    System: Windows XP
    Microprocessor: Intel Pentium 2.53GH processor
    RAM: 512MB DDR
Vidio Memory: nVIDIA MX440 64MB TV OUT
    Hard Disk: 250GB Western Digital
    Sound Chip: Stereo
    Motherboard: Columbia 2

I have replaced the hard drive, the old drive was 80GB I replaced it with a Western Digital 250GB, but for some reason it is only recognised as 127GB.
I have been trying to sort this for a few weeks now and no one seems to know.
I have formatted the system on a couple of occasions and this has not worked. Packard bell does not seem to want to help with any advice, I just hope someone out there can help me, I want to get this sorted as quickly as possible so I can start using it.
The system I am using at the moment is not the Packard bell machine

The problem might be with old BIOS that doesn't support big hard disks. Try to search for BIOS update. Also, there might be some standard steps to fix the problem at web-site of hard disk manufacturer.
