Internet Explorer 7 - YUK!
Hi Folks,
I recently upgraded (that's a euphemism) to IE7 and now wish I hadn't.
Apart from slightly more viewable screen, which I didn't need, and I don't think anybody did, what does it provide that's better than IE6?
Can anybody help me with my favourites layout please?
Let me explain, I have a very large number of favourites, all neatly catalogued into named folders, some with as many as 100 entries.
Now in IE6, I could click on Favourites, click on a folder and all the contents would be displayed to the right. I could move the cursor to chose what I wanted.
However, in IE7, I click on Favourites and this very restricted size window opens (Can I resize this window? How?) then all the folders have a blue arrow at the right.
This seems to be completely superfluous and does nothing.
If I click a folder it opens underneath instead of to the right, then I choose my item and go to it.
BUT, next time I go to Favourites it has left the last folder open, so now I have to scan up to the top, close the folder, then find what I want.
Compared to IE6, navigation of my favourites has become a nightmare waste of time!
Can anybody help me to get back what I had in IE6 please?
Regards.

About the most touted feature of IE7 was the addition of tabbed browsing.
The behavior of the Favorites as you describe is the way they work in IE7. I know of no option to adjust this.
IE7 will appear in Add/Remove programs if you wish to remove it but it is considered by Microsoft as a Critical Update for XP SP2 due to security reasons and fixes.

Thanks Jephree,
Ah, tabbed browsing, well that's what I've been waiting for........errr?
It's just another window insn't it?
I had that in IE6.
I don't mind improvements, in fact I relish advancement, but why did we have to go backwards with the favourites?
I know I'm in a minority as most people don't organise their Favourites but if you have folders within folders, as I do, IE7 is just about unusable!
I'll persevere for a while as it's supposed to be more secure etc.
BUT I did set a restore point before upgrading to IE7 so if I don't find SOME improvement it's back to 6.
Is the general consensus that 7 is better than 6?
I'd like to know where?
Regards.
