The Software Patch is showing three Windows XP Security Updates for this month. Two have downloaded into my machine without any problems, but this one has failed on two attempts.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Has someone at Microsoft stuffed up?

Yes, I would say that that answers the question, thanks. But the article doesn't seem to explain how or where I get the SNMP feature if I need it, or whether I need it at all. It describes it as an 'optional component' - would I have been asked at some point if I wanted to download it?

I was not offered this update. From what I see so far if it was listed from Windows Update then some relevant feature was detected on your machine.

I also see this update affect .NET Framework 1.1. When I see this problem this is the link being given:

This is a problem that is being posted quite a bit on Microsoft message boards. If I find out more I will post.

I wasn't offered it either, so far as I know - I tried to install it because it was listed, and the descrption by SWP didn't mention anything about it being optional or conditional
