    unwanted download

    Hi

I have a problem with my PC trying to dl something. When i turn on my PC Windows Instalelr appears and says "preparing to install"..

After a while i get 2 pop up msgs ones title is "Microsoft Office XP Professional with FrontPage" which says "please wait while windows configures Microsfot Office XP Professional with FrontPage" it has a progress bar which stops at 1...

Then i get another box which has the same title, and says "The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not avaiable. Insert the Microsoft Office XP PRofessional Front Page disk and click ok"

Im not sure what it wants- but i dont want the upgrade! i dont use front office...
It might be because i attempted to dl a HTML maker from another site so i could upload an excel spreadsheet.

how can i get rid of this!?

    thanks

microsoft front page is a website builder.... the chances are, this is what the download was.

    click start>control panel> add/remove programs

is microsoft office or office front page there?

do you have any other office software (word, excel...)

You might see if this software is listed in this utility:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/

    If so remove it.

Just to clarify: after you download and start the program it creates a list of all applications listed by your Windows Installer.

So if you see your problem programs listed then delete them.
