Service Pack2
trying to download service pack2 which failed halfway through. I now have when I open add/remove in my control panel:-
35 security updates KN numbers
9 updates for windows XP
4 Hotfix updates
1 validation tool
1 windows installer
My computer has now slowed down to a snail pace.
Can you please help me.
I have tried to remove them but my computer just fails to start up again
I have to put the disk in to go into setup mode.

Did your download of SP2 fail or did the installation fail?
Did you; were you downloading as a Save to disk?
The updates you mention have nothing to do with SP2. SP2 will appear as a single entry in Add/Remove programs.
If you didn't download/Save SP2 this is what I would recommend. Then try installing again.
You can download from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
As to your current problems try a System Restore (from Safe Mode if necessary).
start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

Thank for your help. Saving the SP2 on a separate and downloading later seems to have done the trick. Computer is now back to normal with none of the items mentioned are no longer in the add/remove folder.
Thanks again Golfjack
